Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016 – Top of the Hill (Forest Rally Stage)

After a 20 minute walk from about two thirds of the way up the hill climb strip, through the forest rally stage which had been sponsored by Skoda. We finally arrived at the top of the hill, where we found plenty of mud related fun happening through the forest stage that had been set up.

It was late in the day, and it wasn’t long before the rally stage was closing. But people were still trying to improve on their time around the forest rally stage
Opposite to where the rally stage started on top of the hill was the end of the hill climb, where cars were coming up and parking up ready to back down once clear. We observed for a while as it was quite interesting to hear the cars coming up.
Here’s a couple of quick video clips I got, remember to watch these HD!
This was pretty much the end of the day for us, we then headed back down through the forest towards the car park slowly again stopping in places to observe cars going up the hill climb.
Earlier in the day, with it being the Queens Jubilee year there was a fireworks display, red arrows passing over Goodwood House and a euro fighter doing aerial acrobatics. We unfortunately only caught the Euro Fighter aerial acrobatics, so here’s a video clip…and here’s a couple of pictures I found

Having an interest in Motorsport I thought it was pretty amazing to see the machines used up close. We got to see Gordon Sheddon’s Yuasa Honda Civic BTCC car, Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull F1 car and Lewis Hamilton’s Mclaren go up the hill, and there’s many we probably missed.
All in all it was an absolutely amazing experience, especially with it being my first time at Goodwood, I would definitely recommend it to anyone and can’t wait to do it next year!
