Linda Vaughn LV-1 Chevrolet Camaros, Barrett-Jackson Auctions

Two special  Chevrolet Camaros will do their bit for charity in January following an appearance at the recent SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Designed by Jack 'Doc' Watson and inspired by Linda Vaughn, proceeds from each LV-1 Camaro sold at auction will go towards The International Kids Alliance Network--a  dedicated to exciting teaching tools for kids and eliminating illiteracy.
It's also the first time a dedicated vehicle program has been named after a woman, but few deserve it more than the "First Lady of Motorsports". Designed to honor Watson's fifty-year friendship with Vaughn, the cars  a color combination harking back to Doc's iconic Hurst and Oldsmobile schemes--black and gold, and white and gold--each presented in convertible format. The gold itself is a tribute to Vaughn's "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" fame, achieved at the height of her race queen career.

They'll be as usable as any other Camaro for the buyer too, as each 2014 Camaro LV-1 is fully certified and validated, and will carry complete warranty and service policies. That's if people get out and drive the cars, as each is sure to become a collector's item just as the original Hurst vehicles did.
Barrett-Jackson will host the auction at Scottsdale in January. The auction house's president, Steve Davis, said of the Camaros, "As a car that was designed by the one-and-only man who brought us the iconic Hurst/Olds, Doc's LV-1 Camaro is sure to add to the excitement of our Scottsdale event." He adds, "It's these type of unique vehicles that allow us to donate so much to such great organizations across the country."
